Big City Coffee & Cafe in downtown Boise, Idaho has quickly become a staple. The coffee shop offers so much more than just coffee, and has a kitschy atmosphere that makes it fun to grab a cup of coffee, or to spend the entire day.

Big City first opened in 2005 in West Boise, but moved to its current location of the Linen District in 2006. They have a full menu but are known for their homemade scones and quiches, both which are available all day. You can also get many breakfast foods, other homemade pastries, sandwiches, and wraps. They also have some of the best biscuits and gravy in town (in my opinion)!

You can even order an entire quiche to take home! (or eat at the restaurant, if you’re that hungry). They source their food from many local locations and sell their own coffee too.

In 2013, they launched a new company called “Joe Cans Coffee for a Cause” — “to raise awareness and provide both moral and financial support for women facing breast cancer,” according to their website.

Tip: At the end of each day, you can purchase leftover pastries for a discounted price. Their scones are especially popular and they generally have 3-6 flavors available at any give time.

Big City Coffee is especially popular among locals, and so the only downside of the Linen District location is that you will likely have to wait in line for at least a few minutes before ordering.
