George’s Cycles

George’s Cycles Boise has a few locations throughout the city, and has been in Boise since they opened in 1971. George’s was one of the very first “pro” bicycle shops in town, and it saw the beginning of the Boise Cycling Club.

Things to do in Boise, Idaho (for a first-time visitor)

The club partakes in races like the Bogus Basin Hillclimb, Tour of Spud Valley, and the Tuesday Nighter. The bike shop was purchased by two locals in 1981, and has turned from one store to three-and-a-half stores. George’s now offers road, mountain, Bmx, and kid’s bikes, plus recumbants, tandems, three wheelers, and cyclocross.

Idaho Mountain Touring

Idaho Mountain Touring in Boise is an outdoors store, but bicycles are an important piece of what they do. Idaho Mountain Touring has supplies for outdoor activities, both in the summer and winter, including skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, camping, and bicycling.

They have a wide selection of bicycles and they also have a bike shop if you need maintenance on the bicycle you already have. They also do bicycle rentals and ski and snowshoe rentals.

Bob’s Bicycles

Bob’s Bicycles in Boise opened in 1979 and has been a family-owned bike shop ever since. They are proud of their ability to offer all levels of bicycles to all levels of riders, from beginners to pros.

Bob’s Bicycles Boise has all types of bicycles, including mountain bikes, road bikes, cruiser bikes, e-bikes, BMX bikes, and road bikes. They also carry bicycle accessories, clothing, and other components.

Eastside Cycles

Eastside Cycles opened in Boise in 2009 and is a smaller bicycle shop — on purpose. They decided to create a smaller showroom and focus on their service.

Eastside Cycles Boise offers a number of services, including tune ups and works packages, for serious riders. They also offer a number of different brands and types of bicycles for all level of rider.

Boise Bicycle Project

Boise Bicycle Project is a little different than every other Boise bike shop on this list, but it’s important to include. Boise Bicycle Project is a nonprofit bike shop that is community-based. They run mainly on donations (of both bicycles and money) and offer education to children and adults looking to get into cycling.

The Boise Bicycle Project sells their bicycles to the general public at reduced rates, but they also run fundraisers numerous times per year to help children receive bicycles.

World Cycle & XC Ski

World Cycle & XC Ski in Boise is both a bicycle shop and a ski shop. They opened in 1994 in Boise, and provides both bicycle sales and service.

They also offer many bicycle brands, including SCOTT, Norco, Devinci, Salsa, Linus, Dakine, Bell, Giro, Five Ten, Salomon, Madshus, Swix, Toko, and Bliz. You will also be able to find bicycle helmets, parts, shoes, and other accessories.

Ridgeline Bike & Ski

Ridgeline Bike & Ski is also a bicycle and ski shop in Boise. Ridgeline offers many brands of bicycles, and also offers helmets, bicycle clothing, parts, tires and tubes, and other bicycle accessories.

Ridgeline Bike & Ski may not be an important name (yet) in the Boise bicycle community, because they recently changed their name from Ken’s Bicycle Warehouse, a bike shop that has been in Boise for decades.

Reed Cycle

Reed Cycle opened their first bicycle store in Eagle, Idaho in 2000 and recently opened their Boise location. Like many of the other Boise bike shops, Reed Cycle is a family-owned store, ad focuses on bicycle sales, service, and racing.

They pride themselves in their prices, and offer many brands for all levels of cyclists.

You can find them in Boise off Bogus Basin Road on your way to Bogus Basin ski resort.

Joyride Cycles

Joyride Cycles in Boise opened in 2009 and is located in Boise’s Hyde Park. Joyride Cycles seems to focus mostly on mountain biking, which makes sense because of its location close to the Boise foothills.

Joyride Cycles offers many different brands of bicycles, accessories, Pedal Idaho Shuttles, and you can even demo your dream bicycle before you buy it.
